The Supine Lion,llc 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training

The Supine Lion Teacher Training is for anyone who is ready to deepen their yoga practice, or who would like to become a certified yoga teacher. The course integrates a variety of yoga traditions including Ashtanga, Kripalu, Vinyasa Flow, Baptiste and Iyengar, and covers the basic yoga asanas found in classical Hatha Yoga classes.

The student is introduced to asana practices from the yoga traditions mentioned above and is taught how to effectively teach yoga to students of all levels. Breathing, meditation, anatomy, physiology, chakras, ethics, assisting, correcting, philosophy, yoga sutras, teaching styles and qualities of a good teacher are taught. This course integrates many styles of yoga to develop a well rounded yoga teacher and/or yoga student. After completing the required 200 hour program, a certification from The Supine Lion will be given and the student may also register with Yoga Alliance to become a Registered Yoga Teacher – 200 hour level. This course has been designed to meet the latest guidelines set by Yoga Alliance.

Carrie B. Hall, ERYT, owner of The Supine Lion will lead the certification program. Experienced practitioners will present classes in their areas of expertise. The program includes one makeup weekend in the schedule, with the opportunity to take up to one year to complete the program. There are two trainings offered per year.

Classes will start on March 3rd, 2012 and run through May 20th with a makeup weekend May 26th & 27th.

The 200 hour teacher training will begin on March 3rd, 2012. It will include the following:

  • Ten weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (140 contact hours)
  • 10 practices at The Supine Lion and private sessions with director (12.5 hours)
  • Assisting, Observing, or Participating in a variety of classes at locations taught by The Supine Lion Staff (27.5 hours)
  • 20 hours will include independent reading and writing assignments, journals, student teaching, and written final exam.

  • Yoga Sutras
  • Yamas & Niyamas
  • Yoga Nidra
  • Restorative Yoga
  • Techniques and asana practice

  • Light on Yoga by BKS Iyengar
  • Krippalu Yoga – guide to practice on and off the mat by Richard Faulds
  • Ashtanga Yoga by David Swenson
  • Journey into Power by Baron Baptiste
  • Moving Toward Balance by Rodney Yee
  • Yoga: The Iyengar Way by Sylva Mehta, Mira Mehta, and Shyam Mehta

Fees:

  • 250$ will hold your spot.
  • $1800 if paid in advance
  • $2000 if paid on the first day of class
  • $2205 if paid in three monthly payments of $735.  The first payment is due before classes start.
  • All payments must be paid when due. Late fees of 1% per month will be applied for late payments.

Refund Policy:

  • Refunds for cancellations are available up to two weeks prior to date of teacher training minus $25 processing fee.
  • Once the student begins the training, there will be no refunds issued.
  • If The Supine Lion, llc cancels the teacher training, a full credit or refund will be given.
  • The Supine Lion, llc reserves the right to amend this policy at its sole discretion.
